Rockies opened it's doors to the people of Queenstown, New Zealand in 1992. An exciting business venture for two, encouragement from a husband and a strong desire to save their own children from the dreaded fashion faux pas, resulted in a shop formally known as Hopscotch.
Growing and adapting into the ever changing retail world of the town surrounding Lake Wakatipu; Rockies was warmly welcomed by local families and visitors from all over the world. Founded by Shirley Popenhagen, she had a vision of a children's boutique, where children could channel their personalities and individuality through illustrious and niche fashion labels. Rockies does not only dress the children of Queenstown, it now adorns the youngsters of our out of town clientele - something we are very proud of, featuring in Lonely Planet, New Zealand as a result of our dedication to worldly fashion.
