I have chosen to employ the rag rug method to create a contemporary art piece using remnants of my own hand painted silk, cotton velvets and grey wools.
This wall hanging is both a tribute to the creativity and skill of the nineteenth-century weavers of Norwich, and, to the forgotten legions of servants who supported the daily lives of the ladies who wore Norwich shawls.
MATERIAL
This rich, ornate textile wall hanging has been created using silk, wool and cotton.
MEASUREMENTS
The wall hanging is approximately 70 cm wide by 118 cm long.
