Japanese Pattern Bag, Dragon
Among the animals representing each of the twelve signs of the Japanese zodiac, Azure Dragon is the only one imaginary creature and counted as one of the Four Symbols along with Vermillion Bird, White Tiger and Black Tortoise. The Dragon is often compared to King, believed to be almighty capable of controlling clouds and rain at its will, and adored as the idol of rain in esoteric Buddhism. It is said that Dragon spends its long life-span on earth and keeps on climbing up to clouds on the sky endlessly, never coming back to get down. Clouds are drawn in the design so Dragon appears to be vigorously ascending.
